This gas was colorless, odorless, non-inflammable and non-toxic.
What are the different types of refrigerant gases?
Depending upon the requirement and the system for which cooling is required, refrigerant gases can be classified into the four categories mentioned below.
- R-134: The best option for vehicle air-conditioning, commercial and household refrigeration applications. The R-134 is a non-toxic refrigerant gas that is non-combustible and can also be used as aerosol and blowing agent.
- R-11: Also known as Freon, a refrigerant that can be used in refrigerator and air-conditioning systems. This is also used in industrial refrigerant plants and chillers owing to its efficient cooling and non-toxic nature.
- R-407: One of the refrigerant gases used in cleaning. It is completely non-toxic and non-combustible and widely used for air-conditioning systems.
- R-404: Efficient in both refrigeration as well as cleaning, this gas offers advanced benefits owing to its non-inflammable and non-toxic contents.
