Getting more traffic to your blog is one of the most discussed topics when it comes to blogging tips and tricks. Having more traffic makes it possible to grow your blog organically at a steady pace, but how do you get started? I wanted to talk about this here since it seems to come up a lot. The simplest way is to hire a marketing guy like this Seattle SEO expert. This is a little expensive and most people are not willing to spend money on their blog when they first start. There are a lot of social media actions that I use that make getting some traffic to your blog free, fast and easy. I wrote a short actionable list below for you to check out.
Growing Your Blog Awareness With Social Media
Social Media is everywhere. It should be no surprise that it is one of the most widely used methods for online growth and that’s why I talk about it here. I use social media in a lot of different ways, both a free and paid, to grow my blog. These are the main goals I have when using social media for free. First I use it to grow awareness of my blog and brand. Secondly, I use it to see if some people are willing to cross promote with me, and finally, I use it is to attract customers. Read on for a few examples…
1) Social Media Posting
This is a great way to drive not only traffic to your blog but engagement as well. The only way you can do this though is to have a lot of likes and followers. The best way to gain likes, followers and grow your reach is to post on a regular basis. I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but do you really do it? And, do you do it on at least 5 popular social media platforms? I tell people to set up Hootsuite for free so they can at least manage to post to 3 platforms from one spot. If you want to be even more efficient you can get a paid subscription and manage many more social media platforms at the same time.
2) Social Media Cross Promotion
This can dramatically increase your following, likes and engagement. Simply do a search for hashtags (#) with topics in your niche. The results will show a list of people that may be willing to share your posts, you should ask to cross promote with! Let them know that you are willing to share their posts too!
3) Customers from Social Media
Nobody likes to follow someone that does nothing but the sale, make offers and talk about this week’s deal on their facebook or G+ page. It’s a very in-personable and frowned upon a method that won’t get you many results. But, you’ll never get a new customer if you don’t talk about these things at least a little. I like to follow the 80/20 social media rule. I will post personable, funny or trending things 80% of the time, and I will promote my brand or deals 20% of the time. This seems to be acceptable and agreed on an amount for promoting yourself on social media platforms.
If you have another social media tip or trick tell me about it in the comments and don’t forget to share!!
